How to export your LSA reporting history before migration day (step by step)
You can do this yourself. Set aside an hour. The goal is simple, get your reporting out of Google and onto your own computer before your migration date.
Why export reports and not leads?
Your leads transfer automatically, including contact details, message threads, and call recordings. The reports don't. Google strongly recommends all advertisers download their historical data ahead of their transition, and that's the part nobody can rebuild later.
How long do I have?
Fourteen days from the email that lands on your account admin. Banners appear at day 7. On your migration date the old dashboard locks for good.
What are the steps?
- 1Sign in to the account that owns the ads, not a staff login.
- 2Open your reporting and set the date range as far back as it allows.
- 3Download the performance reports: impressions, clicks, weekly spend, and ad level performance.
- 4Download cost per lead by service, so a drain job and a water heater stay separate.
- 5Write down your current weekly budget and your current max cost per lead setting.
- 6Screenshot your callouts and business details in case you rebuild them later.
- 7Save a plain file name with the date in it, then keep copies in two places.
- 8Open each file and confirm it's not empty before you close anything.
Why does this matter after migration?
Two reasons: first, manual bidding is gone, and the Target CPA that replaces it needs a real number from real jobs. Second, without the export you lose year over year seasonality benchmarks and your cost per lead trend lines forever, so next spring you have nothing to compare against.
The full list of what dies is in what survives and what doesn't, and the budget change is in weekly to daily budgets.
