Your LSA to Google Ads migration checklist
Google confirms your Local Services Ads performance reports will not transition when your account moves into Google Ads. Here is every step worth taking before, during, and after that move, in order.
Before your account moves
- Export or screenshot every performance report you might need later, weekly and monthly views, going back at least a year
- Write down your current cost per lead by service type
- Note your current weekly budget for each campaign
- List every callout, sitelink, and business detail currently live in your account
- Confirm exactly who has manager access to the account today
During the 14-day window
- Watch for Google's move notice inside your account or by email
- Avoid major campaign changes during the countdown, changes made right before a merge are the hardest to trace back later
- Set a calendar reminder for the actual move date
- Back up your conversion tracking settings and any custom report columns you use
After the move
- Compare the new campaign structure to your old one, service lines can get merged automatically
- Check that your weekly budget converted to a sensible daily number, weekly budgets convert to daily and the math does not always land where you'd expect
- Confirm what bidding strategy replaced manual cost-per-lead bidding, it is being removed and something takes its place whether you chose it or not
- Set Target CPA using your own real historical numbers, not Google's default guess
- Watch performance daily for the first two weeks, this is when most surprises show up
